It seems the cost of travel has gone up in most if not all places since Covid happened. I would imagine this is more so down to the rising cost of fuel. I was comparing what I would have been paying in 2020 to now and it seems like it will cost me quite a bit more. Has anyone here found a good deal in the last year or so?

I have not traveled yet this year. I wanted to wait one more year for things to settle. I have not been outside of the country since early 2020 prior to the pandemic. I am planning for a trip in 2023 but have not booked anything yet.

That is understandable. I know a lot of people who put off traveling one more year just to be extra safe. Even if you weren't worried as much about the virus, travel in 2021 and the beginning of 2022 was a mess!

You’re right, prices have definitely climbed since Covid—fuel costs, staff shortages, and inflation across the board have all fed into it. That said, there are still deals if you’re flexible. Some people have had luck booking mid-week flights or grabbing rail advance fares as soon as they’re released. I managed to get a decent package to Spain last autumn by using comparison sites and setting alerts. Have you been looking at package deals, or just flights/trains on their own?

I totally hear you on that. Prices did jump a lot everywhere after COVID, and I felt the same when I started looking into trips again. That said, I recently visited Morocco and noticed that prices there have pretty much gone back to normal since last year. Hotels, tours, and even eating out were much more reasonable compared to other places I’ve checked, which was such a nice surprise.

What I really liked is that Morocco gives you a lot of value for what you spend, whether it’s wandering through the colorful souks, enjoying incredible meals, or staying in charming riads that don’t break the bank. It felt like one of those destinations where you don’t need a huge budget to have an unforgettable time.

If you’re looking for somewhere that’s not only affordable again but also rich in culture, food, and experiences, I’d definitely suggest Morocco as a great option to consider right now. It checked all the boxes for me!
