I have family in three different countries so as you could imagine, come Christmas time, I end up having to sort things out and make plans for visiting somewhere. I can tell you that I have never had a good trip traveling close to Christmas time. Every time things get delayed, something of mine goes missing, flights are overbooked, the crowded airports are in utter chaos... It is a nightmare. What has been the worst holiday travel experience you have had?
My worst experience was getting sick in Mexico. I had gone with a group of friends to Cancun. I don't know if it was what I drank or ate but I had a horrible 2 days where I could not leave the hotel due to "stomach troubles". I will leave it at that!

I have heard of people getting sick from the water. Not that the water was "unclean" but rather that it wasn't as heavily as it is in other countries so it causes stomach upset. Sorry this happened to you, it much have ruined your trip.
I can totally relate—holiday travel around Christmas can be exhausting with delays, crowds, and endless queues. That’s why I’ve started looking for alternatives that feel less stressful and more enjoyable. One of my best experiences was on the Palace on Wheels luxury train in India—no airport chaos, just a royal journey through Rajasthan with all comforts onboard.
Totally feel you on Christmas travel — it always seems to bring the perfect storm of delays, lost bags, and crowded gates. My worst was getting stuck overnight in an airport during a snowstorm, only to find out my luggage had gone to a different country entirely. Took days to reunite with it! Curious to hear others’ travel horror stories too — anyone else had a “never again” holiday trip?
