I like to be respectful of areas I visit and I know that Senegal is made up mostly of Muslim belief systems. I know going to areas here in the UK, they often cover themselves almost completely and do not take kindly to seeing women not covered in their public spaces. Is this something female tourists need to be concerned with?
It is not quite like that. You are not expected to dress this way as a woman. Plenty of Muslim women in the city areas don't even wear hijabs. Having gone here myself, I have seen it first hand. They are not going to come after you with sticks if you show a bit of leg, no worries!
