I read that the restrictions set in place for the pandemic have cleared but many places online are saying most areas still require current vaccination. I was vaccinated last year and I am not sure if that is current enough for travel or if Austria even checks for this. Does anyone know what the current guidelines and restrictions are?
As of right now, everything was lifted on May 16th. You do not have to be vaccinated, tested, etc. to visit. Just be sure to check for updates before booking anything as things can change again in the fall.

Does Austria have the typical flu/cold season? I am not sure if they do.
That being said, I will still check regardless. I just hope things don't change after I book my flights.
