I have heard staying in the larger cities of Lavita gives you the full experience but a lot of others will say that you run the risk of being robbed or someone ripping you off. They then suggest staying just outside the city areas where it is quieter and less busy. Which would you say is better?

Anyways, I don't think it matters all that much. There are issues with petty crimes in and outside city areas all over the world. It is more so about being prepared and not careless with your items.
