I don't have this struggle but I often will see people using wheelchairs at the airport, more so now than just 10 years ago. I remember thinking how difficult it must be to travel using one but it doesn't seem to slow some people down. Do you think places have made it easier for those using wheelchairs to travel on flights and at different locations?
I think many tourist-heavy areas have invested a lot of money in making places wheelchair accessible. That being said, I can't tell you how many times I have heard of people's wheelchairs being damaged during travel. They are mishandled loading them on and off the plane resulting in a hefty fee and a ruined trip.
That sounds just awful! Do you know what airports are doing this the most? If possible, I will avoid using them. That is not okay. There is no excuse to mishandle someone else's property like that!
